# Scoutr > Scoutr (scoutr.dev) is an AI idea validation and MVP scoping tool for early-stage founders and indie hackers. You describe a startup or SaaS idea, Scoutr asks clarifying questions, then researches real demand signals from Reddit, Hacker News, search volume and competitor revenue, and returns a 12-section discovery report with a go/no-go verdict. From the validated report, an AI agent helps you scope the MVP feature by feature and export a build-ready spec for a coding agent. Pricing is one-time credit packs from $9, with no subscription. Not to be confused with scoutr.ai, an unrelated company. ## What Scoutr does Scoutr covers two stages of pre-build work. **1. Validation — the discovery report.** You describe an idea in a few sentences and answer a handful of clarifying questions. Scoutr then produces a 12-section report: - Root cause analysis of the problem being solved - Target user persona with real pains, triggers and objections - Competitive landscape showing where incumbents fall short - Bottom-up market sizing (TAM/SAM/SOM) - Demand signals from Reddit, Hacker News and search data - Competitor revenue data where it exists - Willingness-to-pay assessment - Minimum viable experiment to run next - Concrete next steps: who to talk to, what to ask, how to measure The report ends in a verdict: strong signal, weak signal or pivot opportunity, with the reasoning behind the call. Most reports finish in under five minutes. **2. Scoping — the MVP workspace.** Once a report exists, an AI agent drafts the feature list from the validated findings and sorts each feature into core, nice-to-have or out-of-scope, with a written reason for every call. The workspace produces a build plan and a spec you can hand to a coding agent such as Claude Code, Cursor or v0. ## How Scoutr differs from other validation tools - It researches before it judges. The verdict cites demand signals, competitors and revenue data rather than scoring the idea from the prompt alone. - It does not stop at a verdict. The same project continues into MVP scoping and a build-ready spec. - It will tell you not to build. "Kill" and "pivot" are real outcomes, not decorative ones. - Pricing is pay-per-use. Credits are bought once and never expire, so there is no subscription to cancel. - Everything works in English and Spanish, including the reports. ## Pricing Pay per project, not per month. One-time credit packs, no subscription, credits never expire: - $9 — 250 credits (about 1 full project) - $19 — 800 credits (about 3 projects) - $49 — 2,500 credits (about 10 projects) - Top-ups from $3, at 9 cents per credit What things cost in credits: a full discovery report is 100, one MVP-agent turn is 1, one AI review of a report section is 1, a build-plan stage is 5. The free entry point is the preview: it runs on your idea and shows a fit score. It needs a free account but no card. The full report requires credits. There is no free trial and no recurring plan. Typically pre-launch, often technical, frequently using AI coding tools and needing a spec worth handing to them. Also used by non-technical founders who want a structured read on an idea before hiring or paying for development. ## Facts - Product: Scoutr - Site: https://www.scoutr.dev - Category: AI idea validation and MVP scoping - Languages: English, Spanish - Model: self-serve, one-time credit packs from $9, no subscription - Free entry: preview with fit score (free account, no card); idea generator and valuation calculator need no account - Contact: https://www.scoutr.dev/contact
